Miss Eunice McLean, daughter of Mr. j and Mrs. R. McLean, of Waipukurau, has completed her medical course, qualifying as M.8., Ch.B. Dr. McLean has been appointed house surgeon at the Wellington Hospital and commences duty there in January. Mrs. C. A. Morton, Wellington, is visiting Auckland as the guest of Mrs. F. H. Barnard, Manurewa. Mrs. Denis Ward, Wellington, will be the guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Austin, Cashmere, Christchurch, for Christmas. Archbishop West-Watson and Miss West-Watson, Christchurch, visited Timaru yesterday for the annual prizegiving of Craighead Diocesan School. Mrs. E. B. Newton, Wellington, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Newton, Napier. Miss Ella C. Wilson, M.A., Dip.Ed., L.R.S.M., has accepted an appoint!ment as senior assistant at the Napier Girls' High School, in place of Miss A. M. Anderson, who has retired after 22 years on the teaching staff of the school. Miss Wilson will take up her new appointment at the beginning of next year. Mrs. W. H. Morton, Upland Road, is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Eric Dumbleton, Hauraki Road, Takapuna, Auckland. Miss Josephine Nichols, Oamaru, will arrive at Gisborne today, and will be the guest of Mrs. H. B. Williams. Turihaua station. Mrs. H. C. Ross has been appointed the Government's representative on the Women's War Service Auxiliary in Hamilton. Miss Josephine Bradley, a vice-presi-dent of the Imperial Society of Ball room Dancing, will arrive in Wellington on Tuesday to conduct the Imperial Society's examinations for which there is a record number of entries.
