HARDER LIVING FOR BRITONS
LONDON, December 2.
Lord Woolton, Minister of Food, speaking at Manchester today, announced that his Christmas present to the people of Britain would be a postponement of cutting down the meat ration. ' At the same time, he warned the country that it would have to live harder. He said that that did not mean that they must tighten their belts. That was a wrong phrase. They would not go hungry.
