ENORMOUS TOTAL
WAR SAVINGS IN BRITAIN
LONDON, December 2. The chairman of the National Savings Campaign revealed at Newcastle today that war savings had now reached the enormous total of £480,000,000, and including investments in the post office, a total of £486,000,000. This result he described as a :»nagnificent start on the part of the small savers, but he called for still greater effort.
