FAIR AND MILD

NORTHERLIES TOMORROW

Special forecast for Wellington:—

Light to moderate winds, tending northerly tomorrow. Weather fair and mild.

The general forecast for the Dominion as a whole is for light to fresh and rather variable winds, with southerly directions predominating over the North Island and northeasterlies or northerlies over the South Island. The weather will continue fair to fine, but with extensive morning low cloud accompanied in places by scattered drizzle. Temperatures will be mild to warm.

An extensive anticyclone has been moving slowly eastwards, its centre this morning being near Cook Strait. Winds have been moderate and rather variable, with sea breezes on parts of the coast. It remained cloudy yesterday along the east coast of the South Island, but elsewhere the weather was fair to fine. There was considerable low cloud this morning and isolated light drizzles have been reported. Temperatures have been mild to warm.

All four main centres had fair weather yesterday, although there was some drizzle in Wellington and Christchurch and considerable cloud at times in all four cities. Winds have been light and temperatures mild, Wellington's maximum and minimum yesterday being 63.7 and 52.1 degrees.
