CANADIAN MUNITIONS
MANY PLANTS CONSTRUCTED
TRAINING PLANES

The Munitions Department announces that the production of high; explosives exceeds one-third of the full output scheduled for the middle of 1941. The programme has entailed the construction of 15 plants, several of which are comparable with any in the Empire, and over 10,000 workers are employed in their con* structi on.
The present programme is to provide all the necessary materials, fill all shells, bombs, and mines manufactured in Canada, and permit the export of large quantities of explosives and chemicals overseas or to the United States. All. the projects should be prow ducing in July.
The Minister of Supply, Mr. C. D, Howe, said that deliveries of singleengined training planes will, be com* pleted 15 months ahead of schedule. ":
After January the companies will b« able to devote their full facilities to; the manufacture of other types.
