U.S. OFFICER SENTENCED

MANILA, November 25. Captain Rufo Romera was sentenced to 15 years' imprisonment for photographing defence documents, presumably for a foreign Power.

A message from Manila published on October 18 stated: —A United States army captain who graduated from West Point is being held incommunicado on a charge of selling military information. After he had been under surveillance for a long time it was disclosed that he. was having heavy gambling losses. It is understood that two accomplices are also being held.
