BETTING FIGURES SOAR
The Auckland Racing Club's Mid-Spring Meeting was concluded in excellent weather and before a large, holiday attendance, the crowd being estimated at 10,500, compared with 7000 on the second day last year. The totalisator handled £72,270 10s, against £37,382 for the second day last year, an increase of £34,888 10s. The aggregate for the meeting of £124,300 10s represented an increase of £32,213 over last year's total of £92,087 10s.
