PIANO REQUIRED
RESPONSE TO A.N.A. CLUB APPEAL
The A.N.A. Club's recent appeal for the gift of a refrigerator did not fall on deaf ears and a "Neeco" freezer is. now installed in the kitchen. With the advent of hotter weather the storing of perishable foodstuffs was creating a problem. A piano, however, is still required for the downstairs recreation room, where men of the services gather to read, write letters, and study, etc. Last weekend a considerable number of men again found entertainment at the club and on Sunday, as well as during the week, many made the pleasant rooms their rendezvous. The gift of a large hamper from the Pahautanui branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union was a considerable asset to weekend supplies.
On Friday night Miss Alison Armour was in charge of the dancing and on Saturday Misses D. Puttick and J. Harris were in control. Other helpers at the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Berendsen, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Martin, Mr. and Mrs. N. Perry, Mr. and Mrs. P. L. Porter, Mr. and Mrs.. L. Cooper, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Ward, Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Angus, Mesdames H. F. O'Leary, A. B.
