Auckland.—The fourth series of matches in the Auckland cricket championship began yesterday in fine weather. North. Shore, 364 (H. Walters.B4, Cowie 74, Edmonds 47, Waters 47; Clark five for 129, Goodsir four for 83), met Parnell; Training College, 251 (Delamore 66; Ollivier four for 60), met Papakura Camp, 38 for one; Graf ton, 190 (Ellis 54; Clever ley five for 88, Andrews four for 50), met Middlemore, 63 (Burke four for 20) ; Ponsonby-Balmoral, 1191 (Matheson four for 73, Schnauer four for 75), met University, 139 for one (Bell 97" not out) ; V.M.C.A., 220 (Scott 75, Cooper 61; Warrington five for 60), met Eden. 23 for three wickets.
j Dunedin. —Grade cricket was played in Dunedin on Saturday in brilliantly fine weather. Alblon-Y.M.C.A.. batted the \vhola afternoon against Carisbrook A and scored 317 for. five wickets (Langford Smith 109 not out, Ditchfleld 87). Grange totalled 241 (Chettleburgh 58, Sansom 56 not out, Knight 44), and captured one Dunedin wicket for 57. Carisbrook B scored 214 (Buckley 41; Allcptt six for 48), against Kaikorai, two for 66. University, 143 (Rennie 46, Begg 40), played Old Boys, 126 for seven wickets. •_ • ■__
