TWO FUNCTIONS THIS WEEK
The Wellington Travel Club held its final bridge party for the year in the club room, T. and G. Building, on Wednesday afternoon. The secretary, Miss N. E. Donovan,- thanked the members for their support for the bridge, which she hoped would continue when the bridge parties recommenced early in March of next year. Since the bridge circle had been formed in May the sum of over £24 had been made for the Red Cross and the Patriotic Fund. Miss Donovan, thanked the following members who had assisted: —Mesdames L. B. Clark, A. Bannister, Len McKay, C. Bott, E. Casey, I. McDonald, T. M. Donovan, G. A. Adams, J. Southward, H. Edwards, and H. Wright for donating afternoon teas, Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Clark and Mesdames A. G. Fordham, P. G. Harle, W. E. Haughton, C. Dyer, G. T. Wilson, for donating prizes, Mesdames J. Waugh, H. Pettit, J. I. Goldsmith, and E. F. Wakelin for donations in money, and Mrs. G. T. Wilson for a handmade pewter card box. Mrs. A. Ensor was the winner of j the prize for the aggregate score for j the season. NEW MEMBERS' AFTERNOON TEA. | Mrs. J. I. Goldsmith (of the executive), Miss N. E. Donovan (secretary), and the members of the ladies' committee welcomed new members to the club at an afternoon tea held in ! the clubroom on Monday afternoon. The new members were Mesdames A. Elbe, I. V. M. Inwood, H. G. Fownes, G. E. Fownes, and Miss A. M. Mander. Committee members present were Mesdames P. G. Harle, M. Ham, G. A. Adams, James McKeowen, T. M\ Donovan, C. W. Clark, W.O. Urqujhart, G. T. Wilson, and Miss B. Holm. i Mrs. M. McLeod and Mrs. Anketell ; were also present.
