SPORTS AT HATAITAI
LABOUR DAY GATHERING
The Labour Day Celebration Committee, which was compelled to postpone the sports meeting that was to be held at Newtown Park last Monday, was unlucky with the weather again today. The meeting during the week was transferred to Hataitai Park, and sports for the children had not been long In progress this morning when some light rain fell, accompanying the rather strong wind from the north-west. The meeting was, however, continued, and the officials hoped to be able to complete the programme. The main events, comprising track athletic and cycling contests and also Highland dancing competitions, were to take place this afternoon.
