NAZI SUGGESTIONS

GREEK RELUCTANCE TO

FIGHT

NOT BORNE OUT BY REPORTS

LONDON, October 31 Reports from many quarters, most of them appearing to be of German origin, make it clear that the Germans are sparing no efforts in their attempts to suggest that the Greek people have not got their heart in the struggle. s One argument used is that the Greek f Minister in Rome has not yet left the j j Italian capital and that the Italian Mm , v ister at Athens still remains there. This'h is obviously to show that Greece is re- ] luctant to break oft' diplomatic rela c tions. j £ The German news agency was forced to admit that the Greek Minister in Rome has asked for his passports and made arrangements for the departure of the Greek diplomatic and- consular staffs from Italy. It may take some time for the final departure to be arranged, for the Greek consular officials | ] have to be withdrawn from the moreji remote Italian provinces before the ] diplomatic train can leave. . \ But the German attempts to pretend that the Greek people are not behind the war are belied by every report from Greece. They all speak of the most enthusiastic support for the Government's bold and determined resistance.
