ADOPTION RECORDS

SAFE CUSTODY MEASURE

Hitherto adoption records have been preserved in courts throughout the Dominion. An amendment to the Infants Act, 1908, gazetted last night provides for the transference as required of these records, some of which date back to the eighties, to the office of the Registrar-General, Wellington.

The general purpose of the amendment is to ensure the safe custody of adoption records.
