TWO RULES ALTERED
After a Keen discussion the annual meeting of the Wellington Centre of the N.Z.A.A.A. last night carried a motion that no president should hold office for more than three consecutive years, though he can ;be. re-elected again after standing down for a year. This involves an alteration to the rules. Without opposition it was decided to changft the rule regarding representation on the executive committee by substituting for the threo members who have hitherto been appointed by the Hutt and Petone Clubs (one. member), the Wairarapa sub-centre (one member), and ths Wellington clubs (one member)' ' three members appointed by the centre at the annual meeting. '■''•.' The meeting decided to endeavour to proceed with all the provincial, championships as usual. Delegates emphasised the ■ good that would be done by carrying on, and Mr. A. C. Kitto, who presided, pointed out that sportl bodies had a duty to get men fit' and keep, them fit. It was decided to go on with th« Dewar Shield meeting If possible. . "If the cycling track goes' from Petone it will be regretted," said Mr. Kitto, in supporting appeals by delegates for- assistance in endeavours to have the banked cycle track .at Petoue left in existence. ' General approval was-given- to a suggestion made on behalf of the Kiwi Club that a conference of club captains or officers be held next Saturday afternoon at Hataital Park to decide on a scheme of coaching to follow Fitch's training schedule. Mr. Bond, who ■brought in the proposal, suggested the appointment of quiiliflocl coaches in each event and lie. thought the champions would give their services for, say, the next four Saturdays. The meeting decided to proceed with th« scheme. Officers were elected as follows:—Patron, Mr. R. W. MoVilly: president, Mr. J. W. Heenan; vice-presidents, the Rev. Father Cleary, Mr. F. Bond, Mr. J. W. Russell (Kelson) ; chairman of committee, Mr. R. Spence;. secretary, Mr. A. D. Rowse; treasurer, Mr. G. W. Jackman; three for administration, committee. Mr, J. Gilmour, Mr. W. Melrose, and Mr. H. Jt Sutherland; aiiditor, Mr. D. J. Henderson: delegates to N.Z.A.A.A. 'annual meeting, Mr. R. Spence and Father Cleary; representative* on N.Z.A.A.A. executive, Mr. A. C. Kitto and Mr. M. R. Watterson;. chaperon and ladies* local officer, Mrs..^O.M. Rowse; local officers, Mr. L. Price (Hutt) and Mr. F. Bond (City); sear committee. Mr. F. A. Taylor and Mr. W. Rendle; recording clerk, Mr. A. Reeve; starter, Mr. T. W. Leslie; surveyor, Mr. M. Grandor: medical officer, Dr. Muiri. ha.ndicappers, Mr. A. C. Kitto and Mr. V. Walker; walking judges, Mr. A. Hill, Mr. A. B. Sievwrieht, and Mr. J. A. Ellis. The meeting resolved to nominate Mr. A. C. Kitto as president and life member of the N.Z.A.A.A. - It was left to thi, executive to appoint on» or more assistant starters.
