ENDORSEMENT OF POLICY

HASTINGS, October 18

"The economic stabilisation report is helpful in; that it stresses the importance of continuing the activities of the State Housing Department," said the Minister of - Housing • (the Hon. H. T. Armstrong) in Napier tonight.

"It is pleasing to note that the Government's policy of pressing ahead with housing, as fast as possible is endorsed in the report. We must have houses ready for the men when they return from. active service."

The Minister referred to the recommendation that methods of simplifying and standardising plans of houses should be considered. "P.lans are already standardised," he said. "In the main we are already working on the lines, of the recommendations."
