MORE CONTRIBUTIONS

Amounts paid into the Public Account on behalf of the Aeroplanes Fund now total £101,729 14s 6d. Making this announcement last night, the Minister of Finance (the Hon. W. Nash) said that arrangements were being made to remit to the United" Kingdom Government the balance of the £N.Z.100,000 which was promised. The allocation of planes to the provincial patriotic districts for the purpose of naming them after such districts where the funds had been raised would be undertaken as soon as the moneys from outstanding lists were received in the Public Account. The surplus over £100,000 would be paid to the United Kingdom Government on account of the Dominion's share of the cost of the Empire Air Training Scheme.
