LONDON, October 13
Mr. Arthur Greenwood, Minister without Portfolio, revealed in a broadcast tonight that the workers of Britain have saved about £396,000,000 since November last, and that now there were savings groups with a total membership of 10,000,000. That £396,000,000 had been saved instead of being spent on consumable goods and had been a big factor in limiting the rise in prices. Wages had increased but the danger of inflation had been avoided.
