CLAN MACKAY SOCIETY

Many of the Scottish children who recently arrived in New Zealand and their foster parents were guests of the Clan Mackay Society at its last gathering. There was a large attendance of members, and many of the children appeared in their traditional national costumes. Mrs. G. R. Mackay, vice-president, received the visitors, and presented the children with fruit and sweets. A merry time was spent in music, dancing, and other items, the children engaging heartily in community singing with Mr. R. Morgan at the piano. Mr. Duncan Mackay, J.P. (president), spoke of the ties which bind us all to the Mother Country, and in welcoming the children invited them to take part in future functions of the Clan Mackay. Mr. J. G. MacKenzie (chairman of the Associated Scots Societies) also welcomed the children. Mrs. Bernard Webb was pianist for the dancing that followed, and the pipes were played by Miss G. Mackay and Mr. Jack Morrison. All present thoroughly enjoyed themselves, and were very emphatic in declaring "There Will Always Be a Scotland."
