AIR FORCE BAND CONCERT.
A musical event of considerable interest and importance will be the first public recital by the Band of the Royal New Zealand Air Force, which will be given in the Opera House on Sunday night; O6tober 20, by special permission of the Chief of the, Air Staff, Group Captain H. W. L. Saunders. The proceeds will go towards the funds for the provision of comforts to the personnel o£ the R.N.Z.A.F. and to New Zealanders serving with the Royal Air Force, through Air Force Relations. The programme will consist of varied light and classical music, including vocal and instrumental items. Featured will be spectacular work by the band, the Drum Corps, and the trombone section in specially selected marches and waltzes; flute and clarinet duet; clarinet and trombone solos; violin, 'cello, and piano trio; cornet duet; and Miss Ena Rapley in popular numbers, with special band accompaniment. The band will be conducted by Flight Lieutenant Gladstone Hill, Director of Music, R.N.Z.A.F.
