COMMENT BY GANDHI

INTERVIEW WITH VICEROY

WARDHA, October 4.

Mahatma Gandhi, in a statement, said that the Viceroy at his interviewwas all courtesy but unbending; he believed in the correctness of his judgment and again showed no faith in Nationalist India.

"The British are showing extraordinary bravery in the battlefield, but lack the courage to take risks in the moral sphere," he said. •" I often wonder whether the latter has any place in British- politics. ■ British statesmen have failed to do the right thing in India when it was easy."
