TYPHOON HITS FORMOSA

TOKIO, October 1
The Tainan correspondent of the Domei news agency says that the edge of a typhoon which struck the southern tip of Formosa yesterday afternoon killed 50 people, destroyed 5000 houses, and severely damaged crops.
