RECEPTION ON ARRIVAL

General satisfaction was expressed at a meeting of. the British Children's Reception Committee yesterday at the complete arrangements made for receiving the first party of evacuated children to arrive in the Dominion. No hitch had occurred to mar the successful carrying-out of any of the plans oh which the Internal Affairs and Child Welfare Departments had worked, and complimentary references were made to the officers concerned for their services.

It was stated that all the 89 children who had come to New Zealand had been happily and advantageously placed. Members of the committee felt that the mutual happiness shown by the children and their foster-parents on meeting would be continued during the stay of the children in the Dominion.
