"On© of the keenest man-hunts ever jnaxife jii the Auckland district has not so'far resulted itt the recapture of the four prisoners.. Throughout the night 50 detectives and- constables combed the district, and early this morning other members of the force took up the search. Every- available detective and constable is being pressed into service.! Principal roads and bridges arfc "being watched, and all motor-cars are being stopped for examination. The condition of the injured warder, We. Crawford, was reported by the hospital authorities today to be extremely grave.
