PRICE OF RUBBER,

Price, September 26, was llfd. According to Mr. W. A. Watt, chairman of the Dunlop-Perdriau Rubber Co., Melbourne, in July, 1939. the spot price of rubber was B|d per lb, and, at the beginning of the war. it had risen to 10 l-Bd. The highest price was 14 3-8 din June. The International Committee increased releases or permissible export several times in the year, and various changes had occurred since July. At present the quota was 85 per cent., but for October, November, and December it would be 90 per cent. .

NGAHERE DREDGE RETURN.
Ngahere Gold Dredging report: During September the dredge worked only 266 hours because of si mishap to the top tumbler and the main drive motor. The return for the month was 316 ounces from 143,279 yards. Repairs have been made and the dredge is now working satisfactorily.
