NAZIS' RATE OF LOSS

ONE EVERY 42 MINUTES

NEED FOR MORE BRITISH

PLANES

LONDON, September 30.

During the past month the Royal Air Force has been bringing German planes down at the rate of one every 42 minutes, stated Major Walter Elliot, M.P., in a speech at Manchester.

One every 42 minutes was good, he said, but they wanted to bring one German machine down every 20 minutes. When it was stated that one plane was being brought • down every 42 minutes it had to be remembered that the Germans were making one in the same time. The output of British planes must be doubled to gain mastery in the air.
