JUVENILES PARADED
Following the hurdles at Foxton on Saturday seven two-year-olds were paraded for a two-furlong sprint. Sandy Bay, ridden by G. R. Tattersall, jumped out smartly and was never doing his best in leading throughout. Merry Fox, ridden by W. J. Broughton, was a handy second, and Blue Lagoon, ridden by H. P. Stewart, finished well under urging to be right up third. Sandy Bay is a neat and compact bay colt by Phaleron Bay—Fillette, and he had a race at Marton recently. He carries the same colours as Lady Ina did. Merry Fox is a stylish black filly by Foxbridge out of the Arausio mare Merry Way, a winner of numerous races in the Taranaki district, and she will sport the same colours as Night Eruption, Mrs. L. C. Faith having bought her at the yearling sales for 210 guineas. Blue Lagoon is the chestnut filly by Sporting Blood—Blue Jay whom the former Trentham trainer J. Nelson, now of Foxton, bought for 30 guineas at the yearling sales," and she looks one who may develop useful form later on.
