PUT THE CLOCKS ON
Advancing the clocks thirty minutes tomorrow, in order to make them conform to Summer Time, will be undertaken with pleasure by most people. The immediate effect will be to lengthen the daylight in the evenings. The sun in Wellington now sets shortly before six o'clock, but tomorrow, after Summer Time has come into operation, the setting time will be just before half-past six, and there will be daylight until nearly seven o'clock. There will of course be a corresponding diminution of daylight at the beginning of the day, but as the sun is now rising about half-past five this will be no great hardship. Those who intend to arrive at church in good time in the morning should advance their timepieces half an hour before going to bed tonight.
