GENERAL STURDEE
AUSTRALIAN CHIEF OF STAFF A.I.F. ENDS ROUTE MARCH I (Received August 30,12.40 p.m.) , SYDNEY, This Day. Major-General V. A. H. Sturdee has been appointed Chief of the Australian General Staff in succession to the late Sir Brudenell White. Mr. Menzies will announce the terms of the appointment today. The march of the A.I.F. over the Biue Mountains ended yesterday with the arrival of the last brigade at the Bathurst camp. , The Minister of the Army, Senator Mcßride-, said that the troops will be transferred temporarily from the Sydney Showground next year to enable the Royal Show to be held.
