The Wellington Sunday School Union examinations were held on June 22, 1940, when 386 scholars of schools belonging to the Wellington Sunday School Union and the Hutt ValleyEastbourne Sub-Union were examined Those who gained the highest marks in their respective grades were:— Grade 2, Carol Bourne-Webb.' Nelson Methodist, 88; grade 3, Clara Farrell, Greytown Methodist, 84; grade 4, Clyde Smith, Khandallah Presbyterian. 97: grade 4, Janet Perks, St. Giles's Presbyterian, 98; grade 6, Constance Ormrod, Island Bay Baptist. 100; Isobel Ormrod, Island Bay Baptist. 100; David Marris. Karori Methodist. 100.
