ASSETS BOUGHT

HAWKE'S BAY NEWSPAPER (By Telegraph—Press Association.) HASTINGS, August 29. The assets of the Hawke's Bay Daily Mail, Ltd., were sold today by the receiver for the National Bank to the Hawke's Bay Publishing Company, Ltd., a private company with a subscribed capital of £7500. The directors of the new company are Messrs. W. A. Appleton, Wellington; E. C. Huie, Waikouaiti, Otago; D. J! Holden, j. N. Lowry, and H. H. Wylie, Hastings; and Forbes McHardy, Waipukurau. The managing editor of the paper will be Mr. Huie, who has taken up residence in Hastings. It was announced that the editorial policy of the paper will be independent and will have no party affiliations. The "Daily Mail" was first published in February, 1938.
