WELL-BALANCED FIELDS The Auckland Trotting Club's August Meeting, which comes up for decision at Epsom tomorrow, has attracted a solid all-round acceptance list, and racing should be of a high standard. The grass track has dried up considerably in recent weeks, and there is every prospect of the going being good. Betting will be on the win-and-place system, and the following may be fancied: — Introductory Handicap. — Golden Journey, William, Car Bingen. Kolect, one of the best pacers bred iin Perth, and who won the West Australia Trotting Cup and Easter Handicap for Mr. J. P. Stratton, president of the W.A. Trotting Association, died recently. Mr. Stratton had retired Kolect to the stud, and a few months ago purchased Francisco and two other mares from F. J. Smith's stable to mate with the horse, '
