SHAW AND ROYALTY.
In his latest play, "In Good King Charles's Golden Days," George Bernard Shaw makes Charles 11, Sir. Isaac Newton, George Fox, and Godfrey Kneller speak his views on life, . witii great success it is noted. This was the Shaw offering at Maivern Festival last year, but • since then it has been produced in London with Miss Irene .Vanbrugh portraying the Portuguese Queen, Catherine of Braganza. The last scene is one fraught with great tenderness; Charles, tired of his Court and the ladies, seeking refuge \ in, the Queen's apartment, finds a tender solicitude and understanding. This scene has been described'as one of .themost moving ever written by the : playwright. ■■■■.-. ;.-;■■• ■■;■•■■■■■
