"SING TO VICTORY"

Something new in community singing is promised tomorrow (Friday) at the State Theatre, when the first of four "Sing to Victory" community sings will be inaugurated by the Mayor, Mr. T. C. A. Hislop. The song leader will be Mr. Joe Shriner and Mr. Bob Henry will be at the piano. Slides will be screened of the songs to be sung, and at each of the "sings" there will be a guest artist. The proceeds from the first "sing," which will commence at 12 noon tomorrow in the State Theatre, Courtenay Place, will be devoted to the Metropolitan Patriotic Fund and the proceeds from subsequent "sings" will be handed to the Mayor's Metropolitan Relief Committee and the Smith Family, to assist those in need. A novel feature in connection with these functions will be the gift of twelve double tickets to members of the audience occupying certain seats. No charge will be made for admission but a collection will be taken at the doors.
