TACIT SUPPORT
AXIS FOR HUNGARY
POSSIBLE USE OF FORCE
(Received August 28, 1 p.m.)
LONDON, August 27,
The correspondent of "The Times" in Rome says it is learned that some hours before the Hungarian-Rumanian talks were broken off on August 24 the Italian Minister in Budapest had a long conference with the Hungarian Foreign Minister, Count Csaky.
Hungary, if necessary, says the correspondent, will not shrink from occupying parts of the disputed Rumanian territory and would be tacitly supported by the Axis.
It is thought hero that this fact will induce Rumania to compromise more speedily.
