A naval communique states: "During the night of August 23----24 our naval forces attacked the Italian naval base at Bardia, in Libya, where enemy troops were concentrated, and also the seaplane base at Boma. "Both places were successfully bombarded. "Our forces penetrated the harbour at Bardia and engaged targets at point-blank range. "There were no casualties on our ships." _______„___
