THE COMBINED HUNTS
TARANAKI MEETING
TOMORROW'S FORM HORSES
The Taranaki and Egmont-Wanganui Hunt Clubs' Combined Meeting, which opens at New Plymouth tomorrow and will be concluded on Saturday, has attracted a satisfactory all-round list of acceptances, and much interest will be taken in the form, which may prove a good lead to the spring campaign. The tracks generally have been heavy of late, and the result is that a number of the horses who are fresh will not be quite as forward as their connections would have liked. However, most of the fields contain horses who have been racing during the past.couple of months, and so bettors should not have much trouble in locating the probable favourites.
Betting will be on the win-and-place system, and the following may be fancied:—
Trial Steeples.—Promenade, Prinihia. Leighton Buzzard. Weraroa Stakes. —First division: Mansura, Alexcelia, Val Bay. Weraroa Stakes.—Second division: Abbey King, Boden Park, Merrymeer. Whenuakura Handicap. — Minority. Eupatrid, All Bunsby. Hunt Cup Steeples.—Tigreterre, Love Lilt. Waihau Handicap.—Gold Dale, Noble Fox, Royal Star 11. Ladies' Bracelet. — Karere-Nui, Hirangi, Calshot. Waverley Handicap.—Davilia, Roeon, Calliope. The acceptances are:— 11.45 TRIAL HUNTERS' STEEPLECHASE, S110; about 2 miles.
