!GHT RAID ON LONDON

THE LONGEST YET

A CONSTANT DRONE

DAMAGE REPORTED

IN OUTSKIRTS OF CITY

LONDON, August 26

London had another air-raid warning shortly before midnight tonight. Unofficial reports state that.the raiders dropped some bombs in one area, and explosions have been heard in the south and the east. The raid is still in progress, and agency messages state that the raiders appear to have split up into three groups which are flying round and round in circles, followed all the | time by searchlights. One message says it is generally believed that the number of raiders is small. Anti-aircraft guns are in action. Berlin had an air-raid alarm tonight for the second night in succession. The all-clear signal was sounded after 40 minutes.

(By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright.) (Received August 27, 2.30 p.m.) LONDON, August 26. Londoners heard the drone of planes, which was incessant. The raiders appear to be divided into three groups. This is London's longest raid. The raiders were for some time over the outskirts of London and then dron- | ing was again heard from other areas. The actor Ivor Novello, who was performing in the West End, enlisted the audience for an impromptu concert, (

which started off with "Keep the Horns Fires Burning." The raid was still in progress after three hours. A salvo of bombs was dropped in one area and flash followed flash. Buildings are reported damaged on the outskirts of the city.
