RATE OF PRODUCTION

36,000 A YEAR BY END OF 1941

(Received August 27, 9.30 a.m.) WASHINGTON, August 26. The National Defence Commission, reporting to President Roosevelt, states that 6747 planes have been ordered and 2200 are due for delivery this year and 2500 in the first half of 1941. The present national production is 10,000 planes a year, and it is expected to reach 18,000 by January and 36,000 by December, 1941.
