FARM SCHEME

CHILDREN FROM N.S.W.

ißv I'eleyxaph — Fvest- Association.)

AUCKLAND, This Day. Twenty-eight British children who are being taken to New South Wales under the Fairbridge Farm Scheme, are visiting Auckland. The scheme has been operating since 1912, and it has resulted in hundreds of children being settled in Canada and Australia. There are nineteen boys and nine girls, their ages ranging from 6to 13. They are under the care of Mr. and Mrs. Mclntyre. Mr. Mclntyre said that under the scheme children of healthy stock were brought to the Dominions from families of British people who were unable to support them, but were willing that the children be given a chance in a new land.
