DEATH FROM BURNS
PETROL STOVE ACCIDENT (By . Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. Fatal burns to his head and body were received by William James Morris, a returned soldier, aged 53, when his clothing caught fire at his bach at Palm Beach, Waiheke Island, early on Saturday evening. It is believed that he was lighting a petrol stove and that it exploded, setting fire to his clothing and the building. He rushed out with his clothes ablaze and' collapsed on the roadway where he was found by nearby residents. After permission had been obtained from the naval authorities to enter the harbour, a launch made a fast trip with Morris to Auckland. An ambulance was ready and he was taken to the hospital, where he died early this morning.
