"DELUDED PEOPLE"
EXPECT GOOD OF HITLER
LESSON FOR SOUTH AFRICA
HOLLAND'S MISERY
(By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright.)
(Received August 26, 1 p.m.) CAPE TOWN, August 25
I General Hertzog's motion deploring the war policy and urging the taking of immediate steps to restore peace was effectively answered by South Africa's Minister to Holland, Dr. Van Broekhoezen, who states that Afrikaanders who imagine that Germany would treat them well, give South Africa a fair deal, and leave it in peace are "poor deluded people." "Hitler," he said, "will give us hell if he comes. I saw him in action in the Low Countries, and no pen can describe the misery there. I cannot describe the distress I feel at the folly of the political split in South Africa."
