COLLEGE BOXING
The Scots College annual boxing championships were finalised in the school gymnasium recently. Hough was the outstanding competitor and was successful in winning both 'the middleweight and light heavyweight classes as well as the Wellington Boxing Association* medal for the most scientific boxer. Other finalists who gave good performance* were Bustin Major, winner of the welterweight class, James, winner of the open class, and Hurst in the sst 71b class. i Results were as follows;—Ost to s%st dlvl« *sion: Hurst beat Lee Jones. s%st to 6stj ;Jacobs beat Oakley. 6st to 6^st, A class: •Park beat Donald; B class, Salek beat Heyiwood. Paperweight: A | class, Ackroyd beat Martin; B class, Booker .beat Nicholls; Fly weight: A class, Shaw beat i Corkill; B grade, Hoby beat Ashby. Bantami weight: Carson beat Fraser. Featherweight; •Haycock beat Fleming. Lightweight: A.grade, ! Gilmer beat Commin; B gracie, Fisher beat i Meadowcroft. Under 4st: Macdonald beat j Francis. 4st 71b class: Ginger beat Piza.
