AIR RAIDS ON PORTS

It was announced at Nairobi: "Our troops captured a small post on the Abyssinian border at the northeastern end of Lake Rudolf and repulsed a counter-attack. The enemy's known casualties were 37 killed. Our losses were slight."
An R.A.F. communique issued in Cairo states that the R.A.F. made three raids on Derna on Saturday. First, a large formation of Blenheims attacked the harbour and a direct hit was scored on a large- ship. During the second raid direct hits were made on a jetty and two ships. On the third raid the bombers attacked the aerodrome and the harbour and again bombed the objectives attacked by the first raiders. French pilots and crews again reconnoitred in the Diredawa area. ITALIANS ADMIT LOSS OF SUBMARINE. An Italian communique states: "In East Africa our squadrons bombed Erkowit and the Sudan airports of Summit and Haiya, where a large hangar was burned and the railroad branch at Haiya hit. In Kenya a concentration of motor units was bombed south of Wajir. During fighting at Dobel the enemy left 64 dead, including three officers, before retiring. The standard of the Sixth Battalion of the King's African Rifles was captured. "The port of Zeila in Somaliland was effectively bombed. One of our planes has not returned. An enemy air raid at Port Derna, in East Africa, caused slight damage. "One of our submarines has not returned to its base."
