Special forecast for WelHngHfon:— Light easterly to northerly winds. Weather continuing fine and settled, with frosts again tonight. The general forecast for the Dominion as a whole is for light to moderate and variable winds, with easterly directions predominating in the north, and northerly directions in the south. The weather will continue fair to fine with widespread frosts again tonight. Some scattered morning fogs are probable, and day temperatu/es will be mild.
An anti-cyclone has remained stationary over New Zealand, highest pressure being to the east of the South Island. In Hawke's Bay moderate southerly winds and showery weather persisted throughout the weekend, but elsewhere the weather was fine and settled with light and variable winds. Day temperatures have been moderate, but there have been widespread frosts at night. j All four main centres had fine weather over the weekend, with light | and variable winds, and there was little change this morning. Wellington's maximum and minimum temperatures on Saturday were 54.8 and 38.1 degrees respectively, and a frost of 5 j degrees was recorded at Kelburn. Yesterday's readings were 50.1 and 35 degrees, with a frost last night of ,6 degrees. These are the two hardest frosts recorded at Kelburn so far this winter.
