WAR SAVINGS

CAMPAIGN IN BRITAIN £9,192,037 IN A WEEK (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, August 3. Last week a total'of £9,192,037 was raised in war savings, of which £3,265,562 was from the sale of Savings Certificates, £3,889,475 from the sale of Defence Bonds, and £2,037,000 from an increase in the balance due to depositors in the Post Office Savings Bank and Trustee Savings Bank. Since the opening of the campaign £181,333,266 has been raised by the sale of Savings Certificates and £135,418,455 by the sale Of Defence Bonds. During the same period the balance due to depositors in the Tost Office Savings Bank and Trustee Savings Bank has increased by £46,835,314, giving a grand total of £313,587,035.
