RUGBY, August 2,

Major-General y. W. Odium who is in command of the contingent of Canadians which /has just reached England, said: "We look forward to the time when the British people will be able to resume the offensive on the Continent and to carry the war into Germany. Until that time arrives we shall not feel that we have done our duty. Germany has asked for it and is going to get it."

The voyage across the Atlantic was made in a fleet of liners and proved uneventful. "We never had a moment's anxiety," said Major-General Odium in referring to the precision and efficiency of the naval arrangements for the crossing.

Included in the contingent are many French-Canadians and also American citizens from nearly every State in the United States.
