Sir, —During the last week or so I have noticed in the Press some complaining resolutions by certain unions, etc., against their members being asked to pay towards the cost of the war by way of National Security tax. They ("demand" that the G6vernment spare ' them and make a capital levy. Cannot they see that such a levy would mean ! that all who "own a house would be liable to the extent of their interest above the mortgage—if any?—l am, etc., QUERY.
