OLD SOLDIERS

PARADE THROUGH CITY

Several hundred Wellington returned soldiers, comprising No. 2 Special Service Battalion ■" of the National Service Reserve (Class 2) today made tlieir first public appearance in khaki for 25 years, when the battalion marched through the city after an inspection parade at the Winter Show Buildings.

The battalion paraded at 1.30 p.m. and was inspected half an hour later by Colonel R. A. Row, D.5.0., Officer Commanding the Central Military District. During the march through, the city to Kent Terrace, where the salute was taken by Colonel Row, the route was lined by people and the fine bearing of the men was the subject of comment.
