NO FURTHER ACTION

PLAYER WHO WAS ORDERED

OFF

(By Telegraph—Press Association.)

CHRISTCHURCH. July 30

After considering in committee the report of the referee, Mr. H. T. Coulter, on the ordering-off of T. C. Metcalfe, the Southland All Black, in the Metropolitan v. Combined Services match on Saturday, the management committee of the Canterbury Rugby Union reported tonight that it had been decided to take no further action against the player. It was considered that being ordered off the field and the attendant publicity constituted sufficient punishment for the player's offence of persistently disputing the referee's decision in awarding the final try.

A letter will be written to the player advising him of the union's decision.
