FUNERAL

The very large number of friends, personal, business, and official, who attended the funeral yesterday afternoon of the late Mr. D. J. Newell conducted the service, was filled, and from other centres in both islands a wealth of floral tributes was received. A Union Jack draped the csskct Mr. Newell said that Wellington had lost a good citizen, a man of dynamic personality, and a man whose smile turned easily to friendly and under-, standing laughter.
